14th Annual Human Rights Potluck Dinner – a brief report

Folks,

I wanted to thank everyone for their efforts that made possible our 14th human rights event last night. It is so impressive that such a small group can have its act together so well. I think that the turn out was decent. I would say about 50 folks were there. Considering the fact that Brian Willson has at least three other engagements in Baltimore and one in DC, I think that we did good. We collected funds that were turned over to Brian to support his book tour. Brian and his wife Becky were very appreciative of the funds raised. Quite a few books were sold after his talk. If you did not make it to the event, let me know. I bought some extra books so that we can have them available. They could make a good X’s present.

Special thanks for our UMBC interns: Cristina, Elena and Pamela. It is wonderful to have young people in our group!! We hope you work beyond your required points!!

Thank you also Virginia for coming to my rescue at the last minute to set up the crafts and the silent auction!!

See you at our next meeting on Monday, Nov. 21st at Adela and Michael’s home. Have a happy Thanksgiving.

Leslie
